There are many emotions that emerge from my heart when thinking of those that are no longer with us. I still see them running through the yard, playing with toys, chasing each other and the squirrels. I hear their barks of joy as they welcome us when we arrive home at the end of the day. I think of all that they taught us about training, living and most of all how to love unselfishly.

ALL THOSE WHO PLAYED HERE WILL BE FOREVER IN OUT HEARTS

Kirk and I started out with rescue dogs and we would like to take the time here to remember them first. Many moved on but a select few  remained with us. I believe they were chosen to come to us, to teach us compassion and the ability to pay attention to detail. I thank them for making the details so important to us. Without health, structure and socialization our wonderful breed could not continue to exist.
"BENNY THE BOO" my first sheltie was an oversize tri male bought at a petshop. After attaining his ILP Ben went on to achieve great things. He loved to work and his every move showed it. Ben was 3rd in the nation in 1989 at the United States Dog Agility National in Houston Texas. He won the Houston regional that year after convincing me that we could do it. I had never flown nor had I ever gone that far from home by myself never mind with a dog, but his love of the sport proved to me that we could do it. Ben also had his utility title in AKC obedience, his advanced agility titles in USDAA and AAC, and an AHBA herding title. He retired at the age of 10 because his eyesight would no longer allow him to jump safely. Upon retirement he went to live with my in-laws and worked for my mother-in-law getting the paper and picking things up for her.  Ben's impact on my life also explains why tri colors will always be my first color of choice.

Cryssy was Kirk's favorite girl. When we got her he was going to do agility with her. First he tthought he should get a little obedience training to get started. Well much to his surprise  that was what "Cryssy" was born to do. She was a multiple HIGH IN TRIAL winner. "Cryssy" loved three things in life, Kirk, obedience and puppies. Her puppies are high drive, fun loving and willing to work anytime you want. She was  a valuable asset to our breeding program. Cryssy will live on through her puppies and will nerver be forgotten for what she has given to us.

When you keep a puppy you hope they will be everything that you dream of. You want that special look, attitude and the smarts that go along with it. The bonus is when there is an immediate bond between the two of you. "Weathermans" mourns the tragic loss of "Harry" that special little boy who brought us such joy in such a short time. He was that special little mommy's boy who would do anything for me and played long and hard with Kirk. In his short life he sang in the sunshine, played in the ocean, traveled in the 5th wheel and barked at the moon. He followed his dad around as a mentor and pulled tails at will. Thank-you Glenda for letting us have the opportunity to love him so. He will be sadly missed.

"M.R. J R BEAN" Kirk really wanted a Border Collie and I tried my best to find one for him. It was the winter of 87 and I was hoping to get a dog for Christmas. I searched all over but there were no Border Collies to be found. I gave up and went about preparing  for the holiday. The day after Christmas we went to breakfast on our way to return a gift Kirk had recieved. I found a $50.00 bill on the floor of the resturant. We waited for over and hour and no one came to claim the money. I talked Kirk into stopping at the local shelter on our way to the mall. "Beaner" had been turned in that morning. He was too wild for the owners who were an older couple. Kirk thought the young 8 month old puppy was wonderful and as luck would have it the cost of adopting him was $50.00. I have always believed in fate so we paid the fees, went and did our shopping and returned later for the dog. Kirk got an ILP on "Beaner" and competed with him in obedience and agility. He had a CDX and agility titles from 3 different organizations USDAA, AAC and as an old dog he got his AKC agility titles. He was a happy go lucky dog that loved Kirk and loved to bug the shelties. He was 14 when he passed away.

"WEATHERMANS CLEAR SAILIN' " Sailor was a rescue from the shelter. When my husband saw him his comment was "that is the ugliest sheltie I have ever seen". Sailor had allergies, bad thyroid, lesions on his eyes and terrible coat. He was 18 inches tall and had a heart that to this day cannot be parralled. I knew when I saw him that I was his only chance as he was going to be put down the next day, I did not know however that he would teach me more about training than any dog  I have ever known. Our kennel name came about at that time. I decided that these throw away dogs should have a proper name, one with some meaning. I picked "WEATHERMANS" because the rescue dogs were as unpredictable and as interesting as the changing weather. Sailor was somewhere between the ages of 6&8 when he came to live with us. He completed his AKC CDX and stayed here with us until the age of about 13 when his poor health took him from us. Sailor's love of life will always be here at "Weathermans" teaching the puppies how to play and be

WEATHERMANS NU LEESE ON LIFE

"JACKI"  was the showdog that everyone dreams about. She had it all, the looks, the confidence and the personality that made everyone that saw her pay attention. She could show all day and never get tired of it. Her short record includes a BPIS and 5 points toward her Canadian Championship all from the puppy classes in two weekends of  showing. Jacki's life ended tragically at the tender age of 18 months. We will never forget you, your zest for life and your never ending ability to make us laugh.
